Contra Nando Incrementum

This is neither a spell from the Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, nor a suggestion that against the odds, Nandos serve larger portions.

Contra Nando Incrementum is the motto adopted by the Royal Burgh of Peebles, meaning "Against the stream they multiply" presumably referring to the three salmon on the Burgh shield, and those in the River Tweed.

I was down in Peebles for a wander around, followed by a festive lunch at the County Inn. Luckily for us the snow has all but disappeared so we arrived in good time to explore the town before lunch. The three salmon are in evidence everywhere, even on the lunch menu.

I had a lovely day, Peebles is a very attractive place to visit. Even so I was glad to get home early, before the temperature drops again, -3C is forecast overnight.
