Wednesday 8 December 2010: Chinese Gardens

Today on my journey from Christchurch to Balclutha, I took a break at Dunedin to visit the Chinese Garden. It seems unusual as Dunedin is so scottish, and here we have a ?PaiLou Gateway? ? an eloborate archway in green and blue which were the colours of the late Ming and Qing Dynasty.
These gardens are the only authentic Chinese Gardens in New Zealand, and the first in the Southern Hemisphere, and one of less than a handful outside China.
