Bridge over the Clutha

Clutha River, also called the Molyneux, begins its rapid journey to the sea at the outlet of Lake Wanaka. It is NZ?s greatest and second longest river
The name Clutha was bestowed on the river by the early settlers, predominantly Scottish in descent, who wished to use the name of their native river in Scotland, the Clyde, Clutha being Gaelic for Clyde.
The bridge was completed in 1935, and is a striking example of modern engineering skill of the time.
