Tuesday 14 December 2010: Not just for Christmas Day

Just in the process of making brussel sprout soup.... it is rather fab and even sproutophobs have enjoyed it
(before they were told what it was right enough) ;-)

profuse aplogies for the lack of commenting recently, planning a chilled evening to get caught up with Blipworld.......the Christmas cards can wait ;-)

Recipe as requested;
olive oil
1 onion finely chopped
3 garlic cloves crushed
2 medium potatoes diced
2 tsp english mustard
2 pints veg stock
12oz (or more) brussel sprouts
1 tbsp fresh dill
2 tbsp flaked almonds toasted

fry onion & garlic till softened, add potatoes and fry 3 mins (stir constantly)
stir in mustard, pour in stock & sprouts, bring to boil.
simmer till spuds & sprouts tender (approx 15mins)
blend
stir in dill, top with almonds when serving


you may wish to fore-warn colleagues & loved ones, if so afflicted by sprouts ;-)
