Sunday 19 December 2010: (Not so) Little Yellow Digger

It's still raining ... and really raining. I spied this digger yesterday parked up on a pile of gravel, and today on the way back from our last christmas shopping I pulled over and took a photo of it.

The Little Yellow Digger is a lovely New Zealand children's book that my kids love, featuring the eponymous little yellow digger, which gets stuck in the mud. A series of bigger diggers are brought in to rescue it but they all get stuck. When the sun comes out and dries the mud the others are still stuck but the little yellow digger is able to move, and pulls out the next bigger one, and they all work together to get all out of the mud. It's a really neat little book. 8)
