The Downs

In the middle of a city it's always nice to get out to some open ground and get a bit of fresh air.

Bristol does pretty well for green space.

After dropping the rest of the family at the cinema I crunched across Bristol's Downs (Durdham). Didn't really have a plan and just enjoyed the air.

Flat, flat light.

Some Christmas shopping sorted I'm sitting in the kitchen feeling a little bit sorry for our resident blackbird. Even the bird seed has frozen together.

Oh, and the photograph.

It's a clump of trees on the Downs. I like trees in clumps - don't know why. Prefer them on the top of a cone shaped hill (see Bridport, Dorset for a fine example..!)
