Trouble At Mill

There has been a mill at Skidby since 1316. The present mill was built in 1821 and was further extended, upwards, in 1870. Still in full working order, and after a series of owners, it was sold to Allied Mills in 1954. They converted it from wind to electric power.

When it was finally decommissioned in 1966 it was sold to the local council for a nominal fee of £1.
