Thursday 23 December 2010: yay home!!

Crikey - what a few days!! Went up to Cork airport to pick up son number 2 on Tuesday morning, picked him up and received a phonecall from himself saying - don't come home!! Bantry had just been bombarded with 6 inches of snow and chaos had ensued! We decided to stay the night in the airport hotel and wait for Barry and son number 1 who were due in in on Wednesday, one in the morning and one in the evening. To cut a long story short, everyone eventually arrived safely but temperatures were so low and conditions so icy we stayed another night. Luckily the hotel was very comfortable and chilled so we just ate and watched telly. We fuelled up on a hearty breakfast then made a slow and quite scary journey home.
Now home, had soup, walked down to the sea and did a bit of skimming. Flipping perishing! We don't intend to move for the next few days!
