Christmas Day

A lovely warm Christmas morning greeted us, with blue skies and no wind.

A time for a small family gathering at a very quiet pace after our busy week.
We decided to have a Kiwi picnic at the beach, our beach of choice was Gore Bay. With our chilly bins bulging with food, our rugs, towels, jandals and our sense of humour we were away. There were a few others who had a similar idea but really the bay was very quiet. Santa and the Good Fairy did make an appearance which was very kind of him considering he should've been in the Northern Hemisphere delivering presents. We ate, laughed and had a lovely stroll along the beach. To my delight the Pohutukawa trees, the New Zealand Christmas tree, were in full bloom, a sight I have been looking forward to seeing.

It was a wonderful way of enjoying Christmas Day and I'm sure we will revisit this idea in years to come.

Have a Happy Christmas everyone :))
