Festive Flowers

Christchurch experienced a series of aftershocks early this morning, which has resulted in further damage and disruption. Cordons are in place in the inner city, and the building inspectors are out in force. Feels a bit like September/October all over again. On a positive note, it goes to show that what was "the norm" for the first weeks of spring, is now much more "the extraordinary".

Nevertheless, rather than stay in the city, I decided to take up my mother's offer of spending the afternoon at her place. She lives in a small town 25km north of Christchurch, which has been (for the most part) unaffected by this year's seismic activity. These are her flowers which she has decorated as a centrepiece, in place of a Christmas tree. Peace!
