Tuesday 28 December 2010: Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink....
Still without a supply after 39 hours. This is the old water barrel by the back door (it has seen better days) which is fed from rainwater in the gutters and from which we drained out what we could the other night to use for flushing , as it was the nearest source to the house and it was raining . Now we are taking the short walk to the pool beneath the waterfall to fill buckets. But the flow from the butt dried up very quickly - now I see why. There is a barrel -shaped block of ice within the barrel and it has not yet thawed. It looks fascinating, though !
