The fabric mouse doesn't stand a chance...

What to do when the light outside is awful? Stick to an indoor shot... Mind you, that's not strictly what I did...

Up early to nip to John Lewis for a couple of things (9am on a bank holiday? Perfect time to go!); brekkie made; devoured; out to the Almond, through the freezing fog, on a short Kingfisher hunt (unsuccessful) before getting Mel back home to rest (better, but not 100%); and I headed down the Figgy as per usual.

Of course I came back to have Mel tell me she watched a Fieldfare in the garden from her sofa-come-hospital-bed, though fortunately for me I let the chooks out for half an hour in the failing light, and with the ISO whacked up to 2000 took advantage of his brief return. My first half-decent Fieldfare of the winter.

So it all worked out after I'd spent quite a bit of time getting shots of the Figgy Shoveler who, as well as being today's other blip possibility, seems to be becoming a fixture.
