Wednesday 29 December 2010: JUST ANOTHER TERN
Sorry folks just another tern again today - One has to go with the flow a bit and tides somewhat dictate what's around - I did have some others but thought I would stick with the old fav. plus Horrigan likes terns as they dont show their feet much.
It's hard to get the eye of the tern showing - its very dark and is well camoflaged in the black area of the head - I wondered if in fact it was camoflage from the little fish they catch - they hover and pounce on their prey from above. - Someone smarter than me will know the answer?
