Friday 31 December 2010: MRS.POO CHECKING OUT G.DAUGHTER
This seemed an appropriate Blip for today for a couple of reasons.
The first one being that Mrs. Poo has just had a new Grand-daughter and this Sculpture from Ron Muecks Exhibition at the Christchurch Arts Centre blew her away.
Many people have been bought to tears by some of the 20 or so works. They are so life like and huge the mind boggles at the artistry. I was taken with the 'Wild Man', and 'My dead father' and many other amazing works. I understood after seeing them how - if someone was a bit raw with a death or a sick Auntie or mother that this exhibition would affect them - but not - I hasten to add in a negative way. - A must see if you are in Christchurch. This is the best attended exhibition the Art Gallery has had.
