Saturday 1 January 2011: New years day 2011 and the paper aeroplanes

Had a brilliant new years day. Uncle Jonny arrived (the only unattached Uncle in the family) he had his Christmas, which included further gifts for all the cousins. Ros and the family came over and we had yet another massive meal this time with the Husband's side (again 16 people it must be the magic number at the moment) the kids had their own little table with crackers and Bob discovered that he liked smoked Salmon (a boy with expensive tastes obviously!)

We then banished the sleepy in-laws (Simon & Michelle, the in-Laws are almost always tired!) to bed before we went for a walk with all the cousins in the Gargunnock Woods to fly the paper aeroplanes that uncle Matt had been making all afternoon from his paper aeroplane book.

Ali stomped round like a real trouper and there were only a few trips and tears. Towards the end a degree of encouraging was required to get them back to the house but the aeroplanes were a great distraction.

This is Emily, Elsa, Bob, Sam and Poppa at the start.

New years day was finished with a game of Monopoly. I nearly won but then lost all my property to my youngest brother in law and then when it looked like Simon would win (as usual!) we decided to throw in the towel!
