Lanche

A lanche is the name of the local, corner bar/restaurants which serve everything from pao de queijo (cheesy dough balls) to full pratos feitos (steak, chicken etc.) served with rice and all the other local trimmings. Here's Marcos, the owner of this lanche around the block from our apartment, looking suitably proud of the sparklingly clean establishment he runs!
