Monday 3 January 2011: 300? 4000!
In case you are familiar with HAMA beads, you know what this blip is about.
The plastic beads (which are about 5mm in diameter) are to be arranged on a spiked plastic plate in order to form a certain theme (the "Cars" movie in this case). If you're done with this tedious task paper is placed on top of your work, which is subsequently tormented with a hot electric iron. This causes the beads to melt and form a solid piece of decorative plastic.
We bought such a set containing over 4,000 beads as a christmas present for our son M. As we could have expected he lost interest after 10 minutes, but still wanted to have the work completed. So this is how I spent my holidays...
It does make a good celebration blip though :)
