A Hidden Piece of History

If you're a native Oregonian you might have learned about Chief Lelooska. He carved this totem pole over fifty years ago in front of what was then the Hillvilla Restaurant, and is now The Chart House. We lived nearby and I remember stopping to watch him carve many times. If you've been to the Chart House you probably haven't noticed the totem pole. Trees have grown around it and there is nothing to commemorate this beautiful piece of northwest history. A hidden gem.
