Wednesday 5 January 2011: Bird on fence
Can you see it?
I didn't until I uploaded it later (best try looking in Big). But I did see it a few minutes later as I was driving down the road and it flew in front of the car. So you'll have to take my word for it that it's a big male hen harrier. Seen him a few times in the past week. Best view I had was as he took off from the bottom of the front garden last week. I've given up even trying to take a decent pic of hen harriers as neither me nor my camera are quick enough.
What I was actually trying to catch in my pic was the purple tones in the sky. Beautiful but ominous.
