Thursday 6 January 2011: It Doesn't Get me Down and I feel Okay!
Happy Today! Had A Hairdoo and am Looking particularly Gorgeous! Thank you Pauline!
Many years ago, a friend worked as a hairdresser and I frequented her all the time. We always had a giggle and we always knew what we could do to my head! I was quite brave with hair.
One day I went in and sat back for her to do her work. I was reading a magazine, and only looked up, when she stopped after cutting the back and one side, such was my faith.
I gasped. I could see my head through the hair on the side of my head. "STOP" I yelled. She looked at me... I'll have to do the same to the other side to even it up.
So we sat at the end of the cutting - less than half an inch of hair to about 2 inches above my ears, all the way round. The top was longer, and we decided to make it look "longer", bleaching highlights in would be the way forward.
When we finished I looked like the most feverant Terry Hall fan ever! Think Fun Boy Three period. Ears, and Dried Hay. I thought it was quite attractive, and actually adored Terry Hall, so it was okay by me!
My dad had driven into the town to collect me, and I walked out of the hairdressers towards the car, I watched as his eye's widened, and the car started and he reversed out...... and drove away without me.
I laughed and carried on walking down the street and laughed more, as I watched him circle the town a couple of times, looking at me and shaking his head and he left me to walk home! Didn't want to be seen with me!
Wasn't half as bad as a month later when another friend decided that washing a colour through it would "calm it down", and all it did was make the bleached areas bright pink!
