Step one

Ru got a box of oils for xmas. He had a bit of an experiment with them to get a feel for the new medium, quickly became uninspired with the test subject of a still life and set out to do a self portrait.

I'm his mother so I know I'm bound to think he's good but I reckon the first stage of drawing and blocking in are going pretty well. He's still exploring different techniques, brushes etc but I don't think he'll take long to get into his stride.

I shall attempt to blip each stage of the process, assuming of course he doesn't decide it's not up to scratch and start again.
