Saturday 8 January 2011: Smokin' garlic
Today's farmers' market yielded a large haul to go in the new cold smoker - venison, pigeon, scallops, a turbot, trout, garlic and lamb. Added to this was our friend, Loafonline's home cured bacon and some eggs he'd brought, which are being cold smoked, raw, in order to become smoked scrambled eggs eventually.
The garlic is so pretty, pulled straight from the ground of Akiki's biodynamic farm in Worcestershire. Smoked garlic is a real treat, so looking forward to that.
