Monday 10 January 2011: Blue heron
Robbie, our schnauserxsydney silky, was desperate for a walk so I paid heed and we went for an amble around the nearby Andersons Bay Inlet. Tide was going out so the waterbirds were having their fill, sifting through the mud and sea lettuce.
The Royal spoonbill was there again hoovering its way around the receeding tide line and just a little further round, near a newly built rookery, this lovely heron waded around spearing fingerlings.
A grey overcast day with a hint of rain to come so quite happy with the capture of the subtle blue-grey of this fellows feathers.
One day I shall have an DSLR that I will be able to achieve better images with.....
