Gotta love a punky Goosander...

Got an idea for a weeklong blipseries, but it would involve me looking at the Daily Wail everyday, which I did today for research purposes and... Well... It's fertile ground. For instance there's the story of the case being dropped against some environmental campaigners who broke into a power station which, according to the Wail headline, was dropped because the group had been infiltrated by an undercover cop. The lead-in to the article backed this up - the case had been dropped because the campaigners had found out he was a cop. Eh? Why on earth would the case be dropped because of that?

Read further and there are comments from the CPS saying that had nothing to do with the case being dropped, but rather that there was not enough evidence available, in their minds, for a conviction. That doesn't really make a good headline though does it? It's a story made out of absolutely nothing - something the Wail is particularly good at. The series will be mulled over.

Anyway, today's Goosander comes from the regular Water of Leith ramble, which saw a fleeting Kingfisher; a staring contest with a Grey Wagtail; and worry over a Dunnock with what looked like an eye infection.

Work was work was work. Nothing more, nothing less. So home it was to whack a loaf in the oven. I wonder if it has cooled enough for a slice now...?
