Saturday 15 January 2011: Eye
I had more surgery on my eye this morning at Moorfields to replace a cataract and remove an oil bubble which was acting as a splint on a detached retina. I permanently blinded myself in a bizarre bungee strap accident back in the summer (throw them away folks, they're lethal).
To ensure that the surgeon - the brilliant Paul Sullivan - operates on the correct eye, he draws two huge black arrows in magic marker pen pointing to the eye. I like that. There are times that I'd like to do exactly that, in a sort of "I've not been well you know..." kind of way!
It's not a great photograph, slightly out of focus (which of course is a deliberate visual pun...!).
