The Bell in the Tree

Here's the Bird that never flew
Here's the Tree that never grew
Here's the Bell that never rang
Here's the Fish that never swam

This week Glasgow has been celebrating the feast of St Mungo, and the poem above tells of incidents in the saint's life, that are represented in the city's coat of arms.

The City Fathers (and Mothers) are always been proud of this and more than any other city I've seen the arms are reproduced on buildings etc, all across the city in various forms.

This is one of my favourites in West Regent Street.
