Sunday 16 January 2011: Explosion of colours

Despite the craic continuing long into the night with our friends from Kerry and not getting to bed until 1 a.m. - haven't done that for a long time - I was still up at 6 30 and knew the dawn was going to be spectacular. It was breath taking as the colours developed prior to the actual sunrise, suffusing the beach in a glorious glow of different reds. The old mantra "Red sky in the morning sailors' warning" is true - it's now raining but the temperature is 13 C and the gale force wind has dropped.
Enjoy Sunday everyone.
