Monday 17 January 2011: The next stop is Falkirk High
The last time I used the train through to Glasgow was in the dog days of December, with trains only every half an hour, massive delays, unbelievably large piles of snow on the central belt stations and, worst of all, ice inside the windows.
I'm sure it's a false dawn, but the last two days have felt almost spring like. A friend pointed out yesterday that we were more than halfway through winter. I'm not sure on what calculation this was based but it certainly had the capacity to cheer me up.
