Power cut

This morning as we were eating breakfast the lights went out. After checking that everything was all ok in the fuse box it appeared that all of West Ashton was without electricity.
So for my shot today I decided to head down to the Yarnbrook Road and photograph the power lines and generator that bring the electricity into the village. Funnily enough I was in the same spot a couple of weeks ago filming visuals for a village history project - as this is the site of our village's most exciting story. During the Second World War an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley bomber was out on a training mission and with an engine on fire and losing height it tried to make it to Keevil Airfield, but ended up crashing into the electricity pilon and landing across the road. Amazingly noone was killed and even the pilot escaped.
