Lord Palmerston's Residence, Piccadilly, London

Lord Palmerston, foreign secretary and prime minister at the heart of Britain's power, had a grand house on Piccadilly.

This was known as Cambridge House after its previous resident, the Duke of Cambridge.

After Palmerston's death, it was purchased by the Naval and Military Club and was famously known as the "In and Out", after its gate posts!

Sold in 1996, it is now in some state of decay, as can be seen here.
