A Southern Breakfast

My first day ever visiting Charleston, South Carolina began with the city's quintessential breakfast dish: Shrimp and Grits. I was amazed that I had gone so long without knowing it existed, and I became a lifetime convert after a single mouthful. Mind you, grits are rarely cooked properly outside the Southern states, and this dish is identified with the Charleston area only. What a special treat this was!
