Saturday 22 January 2011: Barclays

I stumbled on the activities this afternoon to promote the new look for Barclays Bank in Argyle Street Glasgow.

This involved a number of events and giveaways both inside the branch and just outside. They were giving away balloons, pretzels, shortbread, hot chocolate etc etc. And of course they had a number of people dressed up in the corporate blue colour.

It did start me wondering if the managers who thought it all up would now be on big fat bonuses. I understand they are handing out bonuses totaling £2 billion this year so they have to do something to justify it!

I bet the two guys in the picture don't see much of the £2 billion. If anyone deserves something they do as its not easy to get away with dressing up like that in Glasgow City centre, and apart from that they looked freezing.
