Monday 24 January 2011: The engineers disease

It's quite funny when you look at it from the outside,

a bunch of us, all good mates,

well, as much as geeks have mates that is

'people who can relate' is probably closer to the truth

Deep down, we all knew we somewhere along the geek spectrum

it's only in later years, we have all realised

'the geek spectrum' = asperger syndrome.

In some ways, it's sort of comforting to know it's 'a thing'

in other ways, it's a little scary.

Thankfully, I'm on the mild side of it, if at all. Just your standard geek

but we definitely had the full spectrum.

The scary thing is, it's an issue on the rise.

Consider this;

the engineer disease is hereditary
and so when geeks gather together
in silicon valley or similar
it gets passed on
and multiplies
to full autism

it's a scary prospect

a side effect of the computer generation

a growing medical condition that we know little about

the implication that humans may be artificially developing a disease is an thought provoking idea...

side effects of progress, or natures way of slowing change?
