A Bull Is Born

I and a companion saw a cow give birth to a bull calf on a farm near Nevern, Pembrokeshire, Wales. We were crossing through the fields to reach a Neolithic burial chamber called Trellyffaint, and we simply stumbled across the birthing scene. The farm worker who assisted told us that this was a difficult birth and the first for this cow. After delivery the mother simply walked away from her child, but the other cows on the scene (seperated from the main herd because they were pregnant) gathered around the bull calf and looked him over good. It was very beautiful for this city boy to watch.
