Green Shield Lichen

During my lunch walk today I noticed this green shield lichen which has such amazing texture and details when getting down on the ground to inspect. Sadly the scaled down image does lose some of the beautiful detail. This image in real scale is no more than 50 millimeters / 2 inches across.
