Wednesday 26 January 2011: Say YES! ...
... to M!ch!gan!
Happy 174th birthday, you 26th state you!
You may not be in the best shape of your life right now but we hope, as I'm sure you do, that your unemployment rates will go down, that the mosquitoes will be a little less bountiful (or at least less hungry) this summer, and that your beer will be as wonderful as it always has been. We love your lakes, your skies and every single one of your 376312645548723642910847647 trees. Your cherries and apples are delicious, and we thoroughly enjoy your wine.
Especially the Pinot Grigio.
But not so much the Frankenmuth rosé.
You may not have treated us very well these last years, but we know it's not your fault. Don't worry. We are not giving up on you. (Please don't give up on us!)
We love living in a state where you can point out where you live* on the palm of your hand.
We love you, Michigan.
To celebrate, here's amErica's high five, for America's high five! :)
*dot marks the spot.
I would have liked to show off a lake, or a sky or anything landscape-y for that matter but the perma-grey has set in once again and I can't bear to be outside in the drab :/ So, it's another hand. If I had known yesterday what today was ... oh well.
