Thursday 27 January 2011: Taking off

And still on the theme of seabirds that I can't quite identify, here is what I (in consultation with the RSPB identifier) think is a shag.
It was a beautiful clear blue sky day and I was drawn to the harbour at lunchtime. Was photographing the wonderful waves breaking when this little fellow came into view. Luckily I had camera set to capture a burst of continuos motion and so got a nice series of it's take off. Amazing how they point their heads in the direction they want to go, give it a good burst of energy and they're off!
