Sunday 30 January 2011: Projekte
This is a small gallery in Wilmington where there currently is a photo exhibit, called "Images of Distinction". There are about 30 images made by 19 different photographers from the Cape Fear Camera Club. The club has about 130 members, and these images are the ribbon winners from the annual competition, the culmination of a year's work. Blippers JusJerry, John Wilson, and I have prints in the exhibit.
The interesting thing about this funky old building is that it once was the first A&P (The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company) market in North Carolina. My next door neighbor said his mother used to shop there when he was a kid.
The building has served as a gallery in this slowly reviving neighborhood for at least the last 10 years.
