Tuesday 1 February 2011: the Solar Barge

Can't get away from Egypt yet. This is our souvenir papyrus painting of a solar barque (of course, a boat -don't you just love its shape?) carrying Queen Nefertari (one of Ramses ll's wives) to the afterlife, attended by the goddesses, the mother goddess Isis and her sister(name escapes me), Maat, and Hathor (goddess of joy love and beauty)

I have backblipped a few:
Cairo airport
Alexandria Mosque, before the protests
Relief carving, Queen Htshepsut's temple
At Luxor Temple
