Wednesday 2 February 2011: Birds
I love birds - always have. But it is something I do not photograph very often.
Probably as I do not have a long enough lens, the birds never sit in an appropriate spot for me to get them - and lets face it I do not spend the time that is required to get good photos.
Today was so very very hot, and I thought that maybe a water shot would be cooling, when I found this little bird hopping around on a lily leaf having a drink of water.
I think that it is a juvenile greenfinch - but stand to be corrected by the masters.
It is not the ideal shot - very messy background - but hey I got a bird - and with my compact which does not have a zoom.
