Wednesday 2 February 2011: The Prisoner
341/365: Sometimes you have no choice for a shot. Today, I have no choice for a shot. I took a quick couple of shots of Poppy, imprisoned as she was taken to the vets this morning (she has a sore eye and they were checking to see if it was getting better) and I had a lift into work from Nick... and that was that. Zero time at all to get the camera out before it got dark and I entered 'mummy mode'.
Today has been stupidly busy. I managed to miss my first meeting of the day by being stuck in traffic... rearranged it for 45 mins later... got caught up trouble-shooting something else... was late for the rearranged meeting... carried on trouble-shooting... then late for my next meeting... then discovered what the problem was with the stuff I'd been trouble-shooting and came up with a solution... and then late for the next meeting... and the next...
Aaaargh!!!
Late, late and more late.
Still, as I was coming home on the bus, I thought about a conversation I heard yesterday. There were two older women chatting - and they obviously hadn't seen each other for a while. The conversation went like this:
Woman 1: Hello! Haven't seen you for ages! How are you doing?
Woman 2: Still breathing. You know how it is. How are you?
Woman 1: *smiles* Still living.
Was just thinking about the difference between the two. By the end of the conversation the second woman was smiling and laughing, so the first woman's positive spin seemed to be rubbing off. Living vs. just surviving. I fancy the former though sometimes it feels like the latter is where I'm at. Really must stop eavesdropping though! :o)
Anyway, no eavesdropping tomorrow. Am going to work from home as I need to have a meeting-free day to get a load of work done. Just about 7 weeks until I finish. Even my optimistic counting method isn't hurrying it up as much as I'd like! I've also just noticed that I've only got a little over three weeks until I complete my 365. I wonder whether I'll continue or not... and if I do... how. Taking any old crappy shot to fill a blip-shaped hole isn't why I started this. Hmmm... will need to think...
PS This is an emergency cat blip
PPS It's not even in focus
PPPS And I colour popped it
*slinks off*
PPPPS The cat's fine. Got to have some eye drops, but she's her normal perky self!
