Wednesday 2 February 2011: Mourning Doves 24 - 0 Cooper's Hawk
This Cooper's Hawk visited the yard today. It dived in to grab one of the 24 mourning doves that were feeding. Everyone got away safely - for now. This hawk perched in frustration in the tree opposite our second-floor window. He's a handsome creature. Best shot I could get with our little point-and-click on zoom. Linda got a nice blip of a nuthatch. Both of us were off work today. Snow day. Our offices were closed due to the weather. Big storm promised, not-so-much delivered (thankfully).
