Friday 4 February 2011: After the Storm
It was a very wild night last night and I feel asleep to the noise of the wind howling. Much calmer by morning and no obvious damage round my house. Couldn't resist going to the harbour and checking out the waves and there were some big ones coming in.
I thought the weather and size of the waves had put the surfers off but just as I was leaving I saw 5 of them struggling out through waves - they are real hardy souls! When they caught the rip tide they travelled out at a surprising speed but I had to get back to work before they started riding back in.
I don't fancy this wave dumping down on my head. The 3 birds give you an idea of the height of it!
