Friday 4 February 2011: Puppeteers
At short notice went along to take some pictures of the Poor Things puppeteers at QMU in their first puppetry workshop. Very interesting session. They started with a motley collection of coat hangers and improvised some puppetry with different coat hanger 'characters', before using them to improvise a short history of the world! All this before getting their hands on the Poor Things puppets and starting to get to know them. For a large part of the workshop the mirrored wall at one end of the studio was kept covered, but eventually the curtains were pulled back and the puppeteers had an opportunity to see themselves and their puppets in action. Great stuff being done after just a couple of hours work and really looking forward to seeing the final show in a little less than two weeks time.
