Saturday 5 February 2011: Red poll
Foul day - wet, gale force winds and everything with a slight tinge of yellow - including me. I have the lurgy of some kind so not much blipping today.
This is Mrs Red Poll, blipped through the kitchen window, which fortunately I had cleaned recently. They are tiny little birds but with large finch-like beaks, the vivid red splash on their heads giving them their name. The male also has a reddish breast. So far we seem to have three - a male and two females. Not a very crisp image unfortunately, but look on it as more of interest than quality - she says hopefully! Now, I'm off to bed :(
