Bell Rock Lighthouse

We went to see Shining Lights at the National Museum of Scotland today, which we found pretty interesting. MrsCyclops was excited about the fact that I have connections to the Stevenson family who built nearly all the lighthouses around the UK... I disappointed her by not being specific enough about the nature of the connection when asked... I shall have to make enquiries!

The exhibition is being run to celebrate 250 years since the Bell Rock lighthouse was completed - the world's first lighthouse on a rock covered at high tide. This is a model of the Bell Rock lighthouse under construction, showing the temporary accomodation and the rail track used to move materials.
