Standing room only

Trip to Glasgow today for a multiple birthday lunch - that's one lunch celebrating multiple birthdays (for clarity).

It was a jolly affair, with good chat, spread over many hours. The real eventful stuff seemed to be the travelling though...that's Scotrail for you.

Out
Packed train on the way there, and we were held up at Falkirk High. I mean delayed, not 'held up' in the Dick Turpin way. After a bit of grumbling throughout the carriage we got on our way again. The announcement that followed made the grumblings about face - *bing bong* I would like to say a big thanks to all the passengers who helped, the onboard emergency medical crew, and the ambulance crew in attendance. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Kevin the best as he heads off to hospital for more tests.

Not the best start to the day.

Return
Even more rammed train on the way back, standing room only til we reached Linlithgow. Not to worry as L had managed to grab a fold down 'jump seat' and I wedged myself into the upper part of a luggage rack - with a wedding now in the making, I can probably be described as L's baggage. The delay here was a fuzz Police Incident. Luckily for us though, it was at Queen Street and it held the train back just enough for us to pack ourselves aboard before it left (5 or so minutes late). We didn't consider our chances of avoiding a half hour wait in the station when the clockwork orange pulled into a busy Buchanan St station with only about a minute before the half past to Edinburgh's departure was due.

So, thank you pissed up bloke who got ejected from our train by the fuzz police*, we couldn't have caught it without you!
