Monday 7 February 2011: and then the ceiling fell down........ :-(

This happened late last night. We had just gone to bed and I was just drifting off when there was a crash somewhere in the house. We both sat silent but alert......

Me:That, will of course, be the ceiling falling down
Si: Do you want me to check?

2 minutes later

Si: I wish you wouldn't say things like that!

Sure enough a chunk a bit bigger than a meter square had fallen down and smothered everything in dust. Having done quite a bit of work to the house over the years I hate the smell of old plaster most!

Sam the dog was still in the doorway and just looked slightly miffed but hadn't budged an inch! probably a good thing.

We have been waiting for this to happen for a few weeks, due to a couple of cracks that have always been present on the kitchen ceiling, getting bigger and bigger. However we both secretly hoped it would never happen. Good thing no one was underneath t at the time.

Anyway seeing as Si had had a 3 hr nap yesterday afternoon he had the privilege of clearing it all up;-)

Now yellow pages and plasterers......
