California Sea Lions!

I had an outing with some Marine biologists today. We explored the mouth of the Salinas River near Monterey, on Monterey Bay. These California Sea Lions (Zalophus californianus), were sunning themselves on this platform near the marine lab. Note the sign - "Danger Attention Kayakers Stay Clear of Dock!" Do you think they really need this sign?

Lots of shots of Shearwaters, Pelicans, Sea Otters, and wetlands, but this was my choice for today's image.
