43,2 MILLION REFUGEES IN THE WORLD

My blip today is an apropos to my blip yesterday that showed racism in Norway.

Thank you so much for all your comments and faves. It makes me feel that more than we are people from many nations, we are one world.

So what is my motif today all about? The windows are covered with electronic red numbers. It was made of the artist Tonje Myskja. It is the numbers of political prisoners in the world, the days spent in prison and many other number. The main number is 42 000 that was the number of refugees in 2009.

One year later it has increased to 43,2 millions.

I'm still remember the Norwegian telling the other Norwegian that he should go back to Etiophia. He got political asylum and been in Norway for 8 years, has a job and pay his taxes. How can some of us people of Oslo think that Norway is not a part of the world, without a responsibility to fulfill our obligations to United Nations?

In Norway we have an ongoing debate and focus on refugees, asylum seekers and especially the human rights to the one without id.

I just wanted to share these numbers to you as we are constantly reminded of in the midst of Oslo. Somehow it was good to see the red window again, we will not forget that we are living in one world.
